Attorney Dorcas J. Gordon

A Bristol, New Hampshire native, Attorney Dorcas J. Gordon has practiced for over 20 years in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire, beginning with the Laconia law firm of Wescott, Millham & Dyer, LLP, before founding Newfound Law, PLLC.  Dorcas is an experienced private practitioner with a problem-solving approach to legal matters, focusing in the areas of estate planning, trust creation, probate administration, trust administration, real estate conveyancing and deed preparation, lease creation, sales of businesses, business formation, probate litigation, and prenuptial agreements.

Dorcas is admitted to practice in the Courts of the State of New Hampshire and the United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire.  She earned her BA in English from Boston College and her JD from the University of Connecticut School of Law.

A member of the New Hampshire Bar Association, Dorcas served as Belknap County's elected representative to the New Hampshire Bar Association Board of Governors from 2005 to 2010.  Dorcas is involved with numerous volunteer and civic organizations and efforts within the Newfound Lake community, and served as an elected member of the Town of Bristol's Budget Committee for three terms.  She currently serves on the Town of Bristol's Historic District Commission as its Chairperson, and the Kelley Park Committee, and spearheaded an effort to revitalize Kelley Park's Playground in 2014.  Dorcas is also a devoted Board Member of the Slim Baker Foundation for Outdoor Education, Inc., committed to supporting the preservation and enjoyment of the Little Round Top and Inspiration Point natural areas in Bristol. She annually erects and maintains the StoryWalk that is installed at the Slim Baker Area each summer. Dorcas has regularly served as a volunteer interviewer for the St. Paul's School Advanced Studies Program for outstanding New Hampshire Public High School Students, which she attended as a student and a Writing Workshop Intern. In 2019, Dorcas was elected as a Director of the Franklin Savings Bank and continues to serve in that role.
